mind like sky

the story,
Each piece was created through intentional practice. Working outside my comfort zone, I explored new scales, a challenging (for me) subject, and a new way of moving—painting primarily with my non-dominant hand.

This slowed everything down and asked for deeper presence. With every inhale I tuned into spaciousness. With every exhale I eased into stillness. Each brushstroke one breath: steady, aware, centered.
Working this way, I was reminded that the mind, like the sky, is always capable of opening wider. I felt my awareness expanding, letting each brushstroke carry a deeper understanding of clarity.

Time stoped and breath became more than itself;
is there a word for the ebullient feeling in one’s chest while chasing a tide? Or the smell that is not the sea, or the sand, or the salty wind, but all three mixed together? Or discovering a new kind of light?

allowing calm precision to lead the hand and curiosity to guide the eye produced a collection filled with resolute whimsy and expressions of pure wonder,

sky-scapes woven from sumptuous textures, playful movement, and the quiet clarity of focused attention.
These are not just paintings, they are visual evidence of making as meditation.

Hanging one of these creations in your space will saturate your environment with a gently soft, peaceful, clarity, and will gently invite you, over and over again, to return to your own vastness.
